Field Trials: Innovation for Autumn–Winter Crops

AgriTecno Insights

Autumn–winter crops such as cereals, legumes, and leafy vegetables face demanding conditions: low temperatures, reduced solar radiation, and soil compaction caused by excess moisture. These factors limit nutrient uptake and reduce the plant’s physiological activity, directly affecting yield and quality.

In this context, biostimulants have become strategic allies for optimizing plant development. Their application enhances nutrient absorption efficiency, stimulates root activity, and increases tolerance to abiotic stress. They also promote the synthesis of compounds that strengthen cell structure, resulting in more resilient plants.

AgriTecno operates an experimental farm in Valencia—a space where innovation never stops. Each season’s crops are used to conduct biostimulant trials. All studies follow strict European guidelines, using randomized block designs with at least four replicates per treatment and the corresponding statistical analysis. This approach guarantees solid, reliable results that reveal the real potential of each formulation under different conditions. Thanks to this, we provide precise and effective recommendations that help growers optimize their crops and tackle field challenges with proven solutions.

TRIAL IN SPINACH

Although spinach is grown year-round, it is often preferred in autumn and winter because it tolerates low temperatures well and develops higher-quality leaves under these conditions.

In this trial, two foliar applications were carried out during the crop cycle, beginning seven days after transplanting. At maturity, dry weight was measured—an essential indicator of metabolic performance. With the AgriTecno biostimulant, an 8% increase in dry weight was achieved, reflecting greater carbohydrate synthesis and structural biomass.

TRIAL IN CAULIFLOWER

A typical autumn crop, sown at the end of August and harvested three months later. Brassicas present challenges for foliar applications due to the waxy surface of their leaves.

In this trial, two foliar applications during vegetative development resulted in a 5% increase in yield, confirming the effectiveness of our products.

These results demonstrate that innovation applied in the field makes a real difference. Biostimulants not only improve productivity parameters but also strengthen plant resilience under adverse conditions. At AgriTecno, we turn research into practical solutions, helping farmers achieve more profitable and sustainable crops. The evidence speaks for itself!
